Where Do I Find Inspiration?

I was recently asked how much of my book ideas come from my life experiences? Certainly some of the funny stories have been twisted a little to fit a story, but not all of my books come from my life. One of my book’s themes came from a bizarre nightmare. I look around me and see ideas or characters that need to be fleshed out to make a good or bad character. Yes, I’ve taken quotes or quirks from family members and co-workers to make a character more true to life. I, of course, change the names to protect the innocent and guilty! I spend time asking myself, “What if…” I hope I’ve disguised my characters enough that you never see yourself in one of my books. lol
