Road Trip Trio Rescue
If you read the first Road Trip Trio, you are acquainted with the three retired girlfriends, Kathleen, Lucille, and Bernice. This time on their annual vacation they prepare to visit the mansion of the 1890s in Newport, Rhode Island so Bernice can photograph some of them for a travel magazine. Before they leave, Kathleen meets a young girl dressed in a prairie dress at the pregnancy center where she volunteers in Texas. The girl is involved in a fundamentalist cult where she is the fourth wife of an old man. She begs for help to escape.
Highlighted in the book is information about a particular Fundamentalist Church of Latter-Day Saints. There are hundreds of young girls and women caught in this polygamist cult, some who want to escape and others who are afraid of going to hell if they leave. It is an ugly side of our society that needs to be addressed more so than ever because girls as young as twelve or thirteen are being married to old men who already have wives and children. The book is fiction, but included are facts about the FLDS. I think you’ll be distressed or shocked at the children who need to be rescued.
