Mother is a Verb

May 12 this year is Mother’s Day. l read somewhere that “Mother is a verb. It’s something you do, not just who you are.” There is nothing like a mother’s love for her child(ren). Mother is also a noun and sounds so sweet coming from her child. Years ago when I was a child, on Mother’s Day women would wear corsages to church—red carnations if her mother was still living or white carnations if her mom had gone on to be with the Lord. I miss that tradition. I give thanks for the one who now calls me Mom. It’s special to be a noun and a verb!!
